Successful Applications

Making a successful application:

Planning and good preparation are essential elements of a successful application. The Trustees are looking for evidence that you have undertaken sufficient research into your proposed adventure, and planned it thoroughly.

Check that your adventure meets the award criteria. If it does not you are unlikely to attract funding.

Show evidence that you have thought about safety aspects thoroughly. Include details about approved establishments and qualified leaders who may be providing your adventure. Also include details of insurance and how you have ensured that you have sufficient cover for the activity which you are undertaking.

Make a detailed breakdown of costs of your adventure, and show these clearly on your application form. Do not forget items such as insurance, passport, and incidental travel costs.

Beware of other hidden costs which may be outlined in the small print of a brochure.

Always include a detailed itinerary of your proposed adventure, and where applicable, a brochure.

Outline other steps which you have taken to secure other sources of funding and sponsorship. This helps to show just how committed you are to your adventure.

It is very important that you answer all sections of the form as fully as possible. The Trustees will not look favourably upon an incomplete application.

Your accompanying letter, outlining why you feel the Pain Trust should support your adventure, is a crucial part of your application.

Remember to outline the following details:

We look forward to receiving your application.
